Last November, I put my name in the lottery for the NYC Half Marathon without thinking much about it—and I freaked out when I got picked. Three and a half months later, I did it. I ran my first race ever—my first Half Marathon.
I can’t believe it’s over. I was nervous, then emotional, then excited, then emotional again. Such a ride (and so many hills!). Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge was one of my favorite parts of the race—but more than that, it was about the accomplishment and the adrenaline. I know it sounds cliché, but realizing I can do it feels amazing. And running in this special city I get to call home makes it even more meaningful.
I’ll be back next week to share more about it! For now, thanks for being here. :)
Congrats Laura!! What a feat!
