Shopping Bites #5: Spreading the word about stuff I’ve bought recently
A post with random shopping recommendations—related (or not) to beauty, fashion, and home—because I’m not a gatekeeper :)
Sorry for my absence last week - I was enjoying my last days in Paris (and trying to survive the heat wave in Europe… Hopefully, we are now back on track!
And because I didn't watch a lot of TV last month - neither read a lot, I won't publish a SCREENSHOTS edition this month.

1. Double-Sided Boar Bristle Brush from PATTERN Beauty
You know how some girls style their hair in beautiful ponytails or perfect low buns, and you don't see a single hair out of place? Well, the secret, besides using a little bit of hair wax or hair stick, is a brush like this one. I was kinda skeptical, but it works! It helps you to achieve a perfect sleek bun by polishing and refining strands.
2. Silk short pajama set from Intimissimi
Do you have a minute to hear about the wonders of silk? Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I've become this person: I'm the proud owner of a silk short pajama set. Why did it take me so long? I know, I know, silk is not the cheapest fabric on the planet, but gosh, it's so worth it. It feels like you are wearing nothing - so comfortable for the summer nights! I'm obsessed!
3. ASICS Superblast 2
If you have been here for a while, you know I'm a runner - and although I love my carbon-plated shoes, I know I can't rely on them for all my runs. So I did some research - hello Chat GPT! - to find running shoes that would provide similar effects to carbon-plated shoes, and after considering the options, I opted for the Superblast 2 from Asics. And, lucky me, I was able to get them as a birthday gift from my mom and my sister. These are my first shoes from Asics, and I'm loving them so far - they definitely give me a boost and are super comfy!
4. Lane Strappy Sandal from LifeStride
And speaking of comfort - and since it's summer time - I need to mention these sandals. LifeStride is a brand that offers a variety of comfortable shoes, and we all know how it can be tricky to wear comfortable shoes in the summer (hello, blisters!). These babies are cute and super comfy - I took long walks in Paris wearing them with no problem!
5. Fast and Free Running Hat from Lululemon
And because summer is here, I had to get a hat for my outdoor runs, and after a recommendation from a friend, I got this one from Lululemon. It doesn't get super hot on your head, so I guess it's a plus.
6. Anthelios Oil Control Gel-Cream SPF50+ from La Roche Posay
I guess we all know that we need to apply sunscreen every day, all year long, right? And during the summer, when the weather is nice and we spend more time outside, it is even more crucial. I've been loving this one from La Roche Posay - I've been using it every single day for over a month and I love the dry finish and the fact it doesn't leave a white cast. I got this one last year during a trip to Paris - remember La Roche-Posay formulas are not exactly the same in the USA as they are in Europe, and I'm linking that below.
7. Natural Brow Duo - Pencil & Tinted Gel by Pixi Beauty
I guess I've been sleeping under a rock over the last years, cause it wasn't until recently that I found out about the simple trick of using a gel on your brows to enhance your look (to be clear, I've always used brow pencils). And this product from Pixi is so convenient, cause it has both the pencil and the gel, which lasts all day long!
8. Wooden Bread Bow Knife
And because this tag is not exclusive to only beauty and fashion recs, I need to share about this purchase we made recently and we absolutely love it: a bread knife, perfect to slice my homemade sourdough breads, and with a very reasonable and affordable price!
And that's a wrap! I hope you enjoyed this round of recs - and let me know if you have been trying some exciting products lately!
My favorite sunscreen (EU formula)! Great texture and finish!
